Business process flowchart
There are many ways to describe business processes. You can compose a detailed text document, formalize the process as a table, or represent it as a diagram. For this purpose, special sets of rules and symbols are used to represent various elements of the process. Such sets are called notations.
In business analysis, flowcharts are used to describe simple processes. For complex processes with a large number of participants, BPMN 2.0 is used, which is one of the most popular notations today.
Complex processes with statuses
If it is necessary to automate a rather complex process logic, including arbitrary actions and states, as well as flexible setting of access rights to a document, a business process with statuses (in Bitrix24 terminology) will help.
A business process with statuses is a set of states, transitions and actions. One of the states must be labeled as the initial state. As actions are performed, the process transitions from one state to another. Transitions are made on the basis of events.
Creating actions (activities)
Sometimes it happens that the actions included in the basic Bitrix24 package are not enough to fully automate some non-standard business process logic. For such cases, the Bitrix24 development team has provided several ways to expand the system's capabilities. One of them is to create your own actions (activity) for the business process template designer.
The creation of activities is available for both cloud and on-premise editions of Bitrix24, but the development principles are different.
